  • Goals

Taichung City Child Development Resource Center hopes to achieve the following:

1. To provide children with (suspected) developmental delays in Taichung and their families relevant early intervention resources and consultation

2. To assist families’ in making better use of the resources, and as a result, improve their family functioning and promote the integration between the community and early intervention services for children ages 0-3.

3. To provide professional support for the staff working in early intervention services.

4. To consolidate early intervention support services through interdisciplinary collaboration. 

 

  • Service Users

1. Preschooler with disabilities (under age 6) and children with (suspected) developmental delay who reside in Taichung and their parents

2.  Children and parents who are referred by the Taichung City Child Development Report Center and/or Community Resource Center.

3. Taichung City’s professionals in infant center, kindergarten, nanny center, early intervention services and health rehabilitation 

 

  • Description

1. We offer early intervention and education consultation, appropriate early intervention resources and information for parents via phone or meeting at the Center.

2. We promote early intervention and education by providing early intervention ages 0-3 and integrated education ages 0-6 promotional activities.

3. We offer books and teaching devices for loan (on-site reading and take-home loan) to professionals and parents.

4. We hold growth groups that share and discuss on topics related to parent education. These are opportunities for participants to work on and improve their family functioning. 

5. We hold diversified and fulfilling parent-child activities, such as parent-child yoga, music movement and home intervention example activities. Through these activities, we hope to improve parent-child relationships and thereby enhance family functioning.

6. We offer a comprehensive early intervention resource network, providing a collection of early intervention resources and a communication platform for professionals.

7. We hold early intervention and education seminars, a form of continuing education for professionals working in early intervention and seminars for parents on parent education.
