An adult with a disability who lives at home with family members might be unable to care for themselves if left along during the day, so having the benefits that comes with an adult day center are crucial. So, not only do these centers benefit the adults who have disabilities, but it also allows their caregivers to work outside the home during the day and still care for their loved ones after the work day is done.
According to individual needs, personalized service plan is designed including living support. Nice areas, living activity, community activity, life learning activity or day-time activity, health, safety activity, social activity, protection, right promotion activity, special medication, and behavior support, are considered into individualized service plan.
Adult day care facilities provide disabled clients the opportunity to socialize with other like-minded individuals and get peer support. When adults with disabilities come to our adult daycare facility, they will get the chance to make friends and participate in social activities everyday.
Residents of Taichung City, with a Disability Card, ages 18-65, not in any social welfare organization, mostly for people with intellectual disability, over the age of 35 years old takes priority.
1. Person-centered service plan: We set service goals according to the person’s goals and wishes, using practical strategies to help the person achieve his/her dreams, gain a better quality of life, and receive individualized support services in areas of home living activities, community life activities, life long learning activities, employment or day activities, health and safety, social activities, protection and advocacy, exceptional medical and exceptional behavioral activities.
2. Multidisciplinary services: We provide physical therapy, language and speech therapy, health checkup, family medicine, rehabilitation, physical education, nutrition consultation, healthy diet, behavioral management, sex education, health education etc.
3. Community services: We participate in all kinds of community events as a form of community inclusion and gain positive life experiences.
4. Resources: We provide necessary supportive services, including transportation support, financial assistance, assistive aids, parenting education, and respite services etc.
5. Support families: Caregivers for our disabled adults can step away from their responsibilities during the weekday, giving them the chance to rest and rejuvenate or get some work done while their loved one is being cared for in a safe and supportive environment with adult daycare services
